BUS STOP 13

Highly regarded for its architecture, this multi-purpose cultural facility is noted for its full glass facade that looks out on Jozenji-dori Avenue, and pillar-like tubes that pierce the building. The first floor of the seven-story building is made up of an event space called Open Square, a museum store and a memorable cafe full of pop-style furniture. The second floor houses a children’s library, an audio collection, the latest issues of newspapers and magazines, and an area with computers for doing searches. The third and fourth floors are home to the Sendai Simin Library and the more than 500,000 books in its proud collection. The fifth and sixth floors contain galleries, and the seventh floor holds a movie theater. This is a public facility that serves not only as a center for the communication of fine arts and movies, but also as a supporter of media related activities. The free internet spots on the second and seventh floors are fun points too.
